My Motif

This is the motif for my band and it will be seen on the track list on the back of the digipak to indicate that the start of a new song name on the list. You can also see it next to the website just under the barcode, which is there so that it drags your attention to your website, therefore consumers can consume on more forms creating a sense of synergy and proliferation.

The main inspiration behind this is the fact that I think it looks like a 'seed' in the middle which can reflect the start of everything, in relation to this being a new band and debut album it can be seen as the start of them and they've sprouted off into a successful future. However i chose this star, to shown that in life there are more than one path you can take and whichever you take there's always another if one doesn't go exactly to plan. In terms of my video the trapped seed represents my patient and eventually he needs to break this seed and he realises he can break this seed and when he is free, his options are a vast outside of them four walls.

I chose red and black to be the colours for my motif as they are largely associated with rock and indie music due to their underlining meanings and connotations. Them colours have the most meanings, therefore relating to rock music as it is seen as the most meaningful genre. Black is largely associated with connotations of power, death, mystery and in some cases evil. In some songs the meanings behind the songs often relate to death, because music is way of letting all the emotions of the death out without feeling as depressed. Red has connotations of love, passion, desire and strength. This should show that the artists and anyone in the music industry can show the same positive connotations surrounding their everyday life and how they present themselves through their music. And I think the two colours has a very dark look to it, however the choice of two balances out to create the initial ideology being portrayed.
